Description
Original Item – Only one available. This is a rare silver “Honorary Medal of Combat” of the Mongolian People’s Army, awarded during the 1940s in the Second World War period. Struck in solid silver, it features the iconic horseman design surrounded by a bold national hammer pattern border, suspended from its original red ribbon mount.
This example is Type 1, Variation 1, distinguished by its early manufacture and the use of Latin No. on the reverse, a feature seen only on the earliest production runs. Such details mark it as a true first-issue piece, highly prized among advanced collectors.
Instituted to honor distinguished military service and valor in combat, this decoration was bestowed at a pivotal moment when Mongolia played a significant role alongside the Soviet Union in the closing campaigns of WWII and in the immediate post-war years. Surviving examples in silver, especially with early Latin No, remain extremely scarce.
A highly desirable award of both historic and material value, sought after by serious collectors of Mongolian and World War II militaria.
