Description
Original Item – Only One Available. This 1945 Mongolian "We Won" Medal commemorates Mongolia’s decisive participation alongside the Soviet Red Army in the final campaign against Imperial Japan. Struck shortly after victory in the Liberation War of 1945, the medal features the inscription “We Won”, a proud declaration of triumph. Crafted in brass with fine enamel detail, this medal shows genuine age and wear consistent with service. The enamel on the suspension has a small crack, but remains stable and intact.
This particular piece stands out with its very low serial number (#278), placing it among the earliest known awards. Even more distinctive is its uncommon enamel suspension mount, where the coloration and pattern differ from the standard issue, making it a rare and highly desirable variation for advanced collectors.
Awarded to veterans of the Manchurian campaign, this medal is a historic artifact of Mongolia’s contribution to the defeat of Japan in World War II. Surviving examples with such early numbering and variation are seldom encountered on the market.
