Description
Original Item – Only One Available. Exceptionally rare early Mongolian People’s Republic “Excellent Police Officer” badge, complete with its original 1957 award document. This is the early Type 1 version, featuring the Mongolian national flag, deep blue enamel shield, gilt laurel branches, red enamel “O.C” panel, and a central bronze-tone medallion with early Mongolian socialist-era emblem. The document is dated July 23, 1957, making this a highly desirable early postwar police-service award set.
The original certificate states that the recipient was awarded the “Excellent Police Officer” badge for outstanding performance in police-service duties, and it bears the printed title of the Ministry and the signature of Lieutenant General Dorj. Mongolian Excellent Police Officer badges were produced and awarded in far smaller numbers than comparable Soviet police or militia excellence badges, reflecting Mongolia’s much smaller service structure and more limited award distribution.
The early Type 1 issue is especially scarce, and complete badge-and-document sets from the 1950s are rarely encountered. The badge retains its original screw-post fastening, with honest age wear visible to the enamel, gilt surfaces, document, and case as shown. A museum-worthy Mongolian police award set for collectors of MPR state security, internal affairs, socialist-era law-enforcement awards, and rare documented Mongolian badges.
