Description

Original Item – Only One Available. This Type I Honorary Medal of Labor was issued in the 1950s during Mongolia’s socialist period and represents one of the earliest and most respected labor awards of the era. Struck in solid silver at the Moscow Mint, this example belongs to the desirable Variation II, distinguished by its early production characteristics and higher overall quality compared to later issues.

The medal retains its original silver surface with a deep, naturally developed dark patina, formed through decades of age and long-term storage. This natural blackening enhances the relief and ornamental details, giving the medal strong visual depth and an unmistakably early appearance. The overall finish reflects careful craftsmanship typical of Moscow Mint production in the early postwar period.

The reverse shows correct Moscow Mint hardware with original screw-post suspension. All wear and surface toning are fully consistent with age and official use, adding to the medal’s authenticity rather than detracting from it. Early Type I silver examples with intact natural patina are becoming increasingly difficult to find and are highly regarded among collectors of Mongolian socialist awards, labor decorations, and Moscow Mint issues. A strong, historically honest piece suited for a serious collection.
