Original Item – Only One Available. Among the rarest graduation badges ever to emerge from socialist Mongolia, this is the official graduation badge of the Ministry of Public Security Special Military Academy, an institution that existed for only eight years between 1974 and 1982, dedicated exclusively to training officers destined for Mongolia's most sensitive and closely guarded security branches, state security and intelligence, border protection, and the internal troops of the People's Republic. It was not a general military academy. It was a closed, specialized school whose graduates went directly into the innermost structures of the socialist security apparatus, and the badge worn upon graduation was a mark of completion of one of the most restricted and demanding programs within the entire Mongolian socialist system. The badge takes an elongated pointed shield form in gilt metal with a sky blue enamel ground, carrying the full Mongolian state emblem in raised gilt relief at center on a bold five-pointed red enamel star, with the academy abbreviation in gilt lettering below and a small open book motif at the base. The reverse carries a correct screwback fastener consistent with Mongolian institutional badge production of the 1970s.
