1980s Mongolian People’s Republic Province & City Khural Deputy Badge – Rare Original Issue

Original Item – Only One Available. A rare period badge issued to a deputy of an Aimag or City Khural during the late socialist era of the Mongolian People’s Republic. The inscription identifies the wearer as an elected representative of a provincial or municipal assembly. Unlike ordinary membership or commemorative badges, deputy insignia represented official political authority and were produced for a comparatively restricted group of officeholders.

The badge takes the form of flowing flag. The Mongolian state flag with the gilt Soyombo emblem and the central light-blue panel carries the deputy inscription in raised gilt lettering. The gilt metal construction is finished with red and blue enamel, and the reverse retains its original horizontal pin fastening.

Condition is exactly as photographed, with visible enamel loss and chipping to the upper blue field, surface scratches and general wear from age and use. The fastening remains present. Despite these condition issues, original Mongolian local-government deputy badges are seldom encountered and remain important pieces for collections devoted to the MPR political system, People’s Khural insignia or socialist-era Mongolian awards and badges.
