An original 1980s graduate badge of a Mongolian People’s Republic БНБС or Teacher Training School, part of the nationwide system that supplied Mongolia’s primary and general schools with professionally trained teachers throughout the socialist period. The Teacher Training School tradition stretched back to the earliest decades of the People’s Republic and remained institutionally distinct from the State Pedagogical Institute and university-level teacher-training establishments. By the 1980s, БНБС schools were preparing primary-school teachers and other educational specialists for service throughout Mongolia. 

The badge follows the classic Soviet-influenced graduate rhombus format, executed in gilt-toned metal with a broad white enamel border and pale blue central field. At its center is the full state emblem of the Mongolian People’s Republic, with the raised initials “БНБС” below identifying the graduating institution. The restrained blue-and-white enamel palette and formal rhombus shape closely parallel the academic and professional graduation insignia used throughout the socialist bloc, while the plain reverse retains its original horizontal safety-pin attachment. Natural age, toning and light wear are present on the reverse, while the enamel and central emblem remain particularly attractive.

Graduate badges from Mongolian teacher-training institutions are much less frequently encountered than ordinary school, youth and political pins, and they represent a very specific professional milestone: completion of formal preparation for service in the MPR education system.
