Description
Original Item – Only One Available. A rare badge associated with the 1983 opening of the Museum of Mongolia’s Ministry of Public Security. The museum was established to preserve and present the history and activities of the Ministry and its subordinate organizations. Its collections were formed from objects used by successive generations of intelligence and state-security personnel, including uniforms, decorations, weapons, technical equipment, official seals, insignia, historical artworks, and presentation gifts. This badge belongs to the museum’s earliest institutional period and first commemorative issue.
The badge is constructed in the form of shield. At the center, Mongolia’s Soyombo emblem is set against a radiating green-enamel field, crowned by a five-pointed star and framed by a broad gilt border. The red lower scroll bears the inscription “Ministry of Public Security Museum.” The reverse is plain and retains its period horizontal pin fastening. Condition is exactly as shown. As an inaugural issue from a museum created within Mongolia’s closed state-security system, it is important piece of Mongolian intelligence and institutional history.
