Offered here is an original 1984 commemorative medal marking the 60th anniversary of the Mongolian State Bank, struck at a Soviet mint and issued as an official institutional commemorative during the height of the People's Republic period. The obverse presents a finely detailed relief of the Mongolian State Bank's main Ulaanbaatar headquarters building rendered in raised gilt across the upper face of the disc, with the inscription "60 Years" and the bank's name in bold relief below, a design that captures the monumental Soviet-influenced architecture of socialist-era Ulaanbaatar with notable precision and craftsmanship. The medal suspends from a distinctive rectangular bar mount with deep red enamel fill in a horizontal stripe pattern. The reverse is cleanly struck with the founding and anniversary dates 1924 and 1984 in large numerals, and the bar mount reverse carries the Soviet mint mark confirming its production provenance.

The Mongolian State Bank, founded in 1924 alongside the establishment of the Mongolian People's Republic itself, was the central financial institution of the socialist state and one of the oldest continuously operating institutions in modern Mongolia. 

Institutional commemorative medals from the Mongolian People's Republic are among the scarcest categories within Mongolian medal collecting, as they were produced in small quantities for internal distribution among bank staff, senior officials, and honored guests rather than for any public audience. Soviet-mint examples with the maker's mark present are particularly hard to source, and this example displays well throughout with strong relief on the building facade, intact enamel on the bar mount, and fully functional pin hardware.
