A rare 1990 60th Anniversary Badge of the Prosecutor’s Office of the Mongolian People’s Republic, commemorating six decades of Mongolia’s national prosecutorial institution. The modern Prosecutor’s Office traces its establishment to 14 August 1930, when Resolution No. 25 of the Presidium of the Small Khural approved the country’s first regulations governing the State Prosecutor, formally establishing the institution within the MPR legal system. By the socialist period the prosecutor’s service had become a central part of Mongolia’s justice and law-enforcement structure, responsible for overseeing observance of the law and the legality of criminal proceedings; its constitutional and statutory position developed progressively through the MPR era. Issued in 1990, the badge marks the institution’s 60th anniversary at an especially significant moment, the final full year of the traditional socialist state system before Mongolia’s constitutional transformation of the early 1990s.

The badge is an imposing suspended construction with blue, white and red color. The upper suspension carries a prominent “60” beside a laurel branch beneath a traditional Mongolian hammer pattern border, immediately identifying the jubilee. The lower element is formed as a broad multi-pointed radiating star, centered by a blue ring inscribed “Prosecutor’s Office.” Within the white central field is the institution’s shield-shaped emblem incorporating the Soyombo, linking the prosecutorial service directly with the authority of the Mongolian state. The reverse is characteristically plain and retains its original horizontal pin fastening. The present example shows attractive natural toning and honest age to the gilt surfaces.
