2000s Mongolian Armed Forces “Operation Iraqi Freedom” & Polish MND Medal Set – Awarded to Mongolian Personnel, Original Issue

Original Item – Only One Set Available. A rare two-medal service set associated with Mongolian Armed Forces personnel deployed to Iraq during Operation Iraqi Freedom. The first decoration is Mongolian Armed Forces' “Operation Iraqi Freedom” Medal, issued in recognition of service by Mongolian personnel assigned to the coalition mission. Mongolia’s contingents operated within the Polish-led Multinational Division Central-South, which brought together forces from numerous coalition countries in the central and southern regions of Iraq.

The accompanying silvered decoration is the Polish Multinational Division Central-South Commemorative Medal. Instituted in 2003 by the division’s Polish commander, it was awarded without regard to nationality to military personnel and civilians who completed the required period of service with the division. Mongolian soldiers serving under MND Central-South were therefore eligible recipients of this Polish medal, making its presence beside the Mongolian national award historically appropriate. Its obverse depicts Iraq with a dove and enameled Iraqi flag beneath the inscription “Stabilization Forces – For Service in Iraq,” while the reverse bears the title “Multinational Division Central South.”

Both medals retain their correct period ribbons and complete pin-mounted suspension assemblies. Condition is excellent overall, with strong original gilt and silvered finishes, clean enamel, crisp relief detail, and only light handling wear. Together, they represent the two levels of recognition received by Mongolian Iraq veterans: a national Mongolian campaign decoration and a Polish-issued multinational divisional medal awarded for service alongside coalition forces.
