A rare 1st Class “Glory of the Intelligence” Service Medal of Mongolia’s General Intelligence Agency, the senior grade of a formal three-class decoration created for long and distinguished service within the country’s intelligence establishment. Instituted on 20 February 2004, the medal recognized generals, officers and NCOs whose careers were devoted to Mongolia’s intelligence and national-security service, with the classes tied directly to length of service: 3rd Class for at least ten years, 2nd Class for fifteen years, and the prestigious 1st Class for personnel with twenty or more years of service. It belongs to the modern award system of Mongolia’s post-socialist intelligence service and continued to be associated with General Intelligence Agency service into the following decade, making the 1st Class substantially more significant than ordinary departmental or anniversary insignia.

The medal follows a distinctly Mongolian intelligence-service design, with the national Soyombo centered on a purple field within a circular shield, surrounded by radiating gilt ornament and the traditional Natsagdorj motif, symbolizing strength and peace. The 1st Class is distinguished by its golden-yellow Natsagdorj ornament, while the decorative suspension carries purple color divided by a single red vertical stripe and white ornamental accents. On the reverse, the inscription “Intelligence Agency I” unequivocally identifies the senior grade.
