Description
Original Item – Only One Available. This official Mongolian Firefighters 80th Anniversary Medal was issued in 2002 to commemorate eight decades of organized firefighting and emergency response service in Mongolia. Anniversary awards connected to Mongolia’s fire and rescue services were produced in relatively limited quantities and were primarily distributed to active personnel, veterans, and distinguished individuals connected to the profession, making original examples increasingly difficult to find.
The medal features a detailed firefighter carrying a rescued civilian through flames, symbolizing courage, sacrifice, and duty under extreme conditions. The reverse displays classic firefighting imagery including a historic fire helmet, crossed axes, and laurel branches alongside the commemorative dates “1922–2002.” The suspension bar prominently marks the “80” year anniversary, while the bright color and gold-tone finish give the medal a strong ceremonial appearance characteristic of official Mongolian service awards from the early 2000s period.
Mongolian emergency service medals remain considerably scarcer on the international collector market compared to military decorations, particularly official firefighter-related awards. Today, this piece represents an excellent addition for collectors specializing in Mongolian state service memorabilia, emergency response history, and rare post-socialist official awards.
