A very rare original 60th Anniversary badge of Military Unit 02565, commemorating the formation’s 1942–2002 history within the Soviet and later Russian military radio-intelligence system. Specialist research identifies unit 02565 at Spassk-Ryazansky, Ryazan Region, as the 789th Central Field Radio Direction-Finding Node of OSNAZ. OSNAZ radio and radio-technical formations belonged to the specialized signals-intelligence side of Soviet/Russian military intelligence. The unit survived beyond this 2002 jubilee before ultimately being liquidated in 2010.

The badge is an unusually substantial multi-piece jubilee construction. Its suspension carries a black-and-orange ribbon (Saint George) surmounted by a gilt “60” and laurel branch, while the pendant combines a deep translucent red carnation of the GRU with a separately applied enameled shield. The shield is divided by a broad silver-gray cross over pale pink fields, with a yellow upper canton containing a small green device; across its lower portion, a gilt scroll explicitly reads “1942 Military Unit 02565 2002,” permanently identifying both the unit and its sixty-year anniversary. The layered reverse clearly shows the separately assembled red carnation and shield construction, and the original suspension, connecting rings, and fastening remain present. The translucent enamel retains strong depth and color, with only light age-related handling visible.
