Description
Original Item – Only One Available. An official Mongolian state commemorative decoration established by Resolution No. 07 of the State Great Khural on 2 February 2011 for the 90th anniversary of the People’s Revolution. Formally titled the “People’s Revolution 90” Medal, it was authorized for presentation by decree of the President of Mongolia, together with an official award certificate. Its statutes provided for the recognition of distinguished state and public figures, scholars, researchers, writers, cultural personalities, artists, and others whose professional achievements contributed to Mongolia’s development. Awarded within the commemorations of both the founding of Mongolia’s modern political-party tradition and the 1921 People’s Revolution, it is a legislatively instituted national decoration rather than a privately produced anniversary souvenir.
The medal follows the official two-part design prescribed for the issue. Its pentagonal suspension is finished in the red-blue-red colors of the Mongolian national flag, divided by gilt lines and mounted with its original horizontal pin fastening. Below hangs a circular medallion framed by alternating sun-ray and floral-petal elements, representing the four directions and eight points of the compass. Against the deep blue enameled field is the historic red revolutionary banner carrying the golden Soyombo, the emblem of Mongolian sovereignty and national spirit, together with the title “People’s Revolution” in traditional Mongolian script and the anniversary numeral “90.” The strong red, blue, silver-toned, and gilt surfaces preserve the formal appearance intended by the original state-approved design.
For the specialist collector, this is an important post-socialist Mongolian award that deliberately retains the symbols and historical memory of the revolutionary period within the modern state-award system. The example is complete with its suspension and pin assembly, with bright enamel, well-defined relief, and only light age-related handling visible. A clean representative piece for an advanced collection of Mongolian orders and medals, revolutionary anniversary awards, or modern Central Asian state decorations.
