2013 Russian FSB Military Counterintelligence 95th Anniversary Badge – Rare Official Issue

Original Item – Only One Available. A rare departmental jubilee badge commemorating the 95th anniversary of Russian FSB military counterintelligence, dated 1918–2013. The anniversary follows the institutional date recognized by the FSB, 19 December 1918, when the Special Departments of the Cheka were established to provide centralized counterintelligence protection within the armed forces. The lineage continued through the Soviet military-security organs and is represented today by the military counterintelligence structure of the Federal Security Service. This particular example is the elaborate Spetsznak-manufactured variation, regarded in the present collector market as the least frequently encountered of the principal badge types produced for the 95th anniversary. 

The badge is an imposing multipiece sword-and-shield construction in silvered and gilt-colored metal. At its center, the Russian FSB double-headed eagle appears within a gilt laurel wreath above the raised dates “1918–2013.” A deep-blue enameled ribbon carries the inscription “Military Counterintelligence,” while the projecting sword, layered shield borders, and contrasting polished and textured finishes give the piece the formal architectural character associated with senior Russian security-service insignia. 

Condition is excellent overall, with clean enamel, strong original gilt and silvered finishes, crisp raised detail, and only light handling marks visible under close photography. The reverse retains its original threaded post and maker-marked screw plate inscribed “Spetsznak.” Complete maker-marked examples of this scarce variation appear considerably less often than the more familiar 95th-anniversary types, making it an especially desirable piece for an advanced collection of Russian FSB, military counterintelligence, Special Department, or SMERSH-lineage insignia.
