Mongolian Border Troops “Border Guard's Glory” 1st, 2nd & 3rd Class Medals – Complete Long Service Set, Original Issue

Description

Original Items – Only One Set Available. This complete three-class set of Mongolian Border Troops "Border Guard's Glory" medals represents a distinguished long-service award associated with Mongolian border protection agency. Established in 2003, the decoration recognized generals, officers, and professional military personnel who demonstrated sustained dedication and productive service in safeguarding the country's borders. The award comprises three progressive classes: 3rd Class for a minimum of 10 years of qualifying service, 2nd Class for 15 years, and the highest, 1st Class, for 20 years. Recipients were required to progress through the classes in sequence, with at least five years between successive awards, reflecting a structured system of recognition for experienced border protection personnel.

Each medal features an elaborate multi-part construction with four prominent silver-toned radiating arms surrounding a circular shield, symbolizing vigilance and the protection of Mongolia's territorial sovereignty. At the center is the traditional Mongolian Soyombo emblem, executed in gold tones against a contrasting enameled background and enclosed within an ornate golden circular border. The medals are suspended from distinctive green enameled upper mounts featuring the class designations I, II, and III in raised gold-toned relief. The three examples display contrasting dark and green central enamel finishes, while their reverse sides retain the original horizontal pin fastenings. The combination of traditional national symbolism, carefully detailed metalwork, and distinctive class insignia gives the set a particularly recognizable appearance among modern Mongolian military decorations.

Offered together as a complete 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Class set, these medals illustrate the full progression of long-service recognition within Mongolia's Border Troops, from the first qualifying decade through two decades of professional military service. The complete arrangement is especially appealing to collectors seeking to represent an entire award series rather than individual classes. With their distinctive national design and direct association with Mongolia's border protection establishment, these original medals form an attractive addition to collections of Mongolian military decorations, border guard insignia, and modern Asian militaria.
