A rare black-enamel variation of the Mongolian military “Veteran Warrior” honorary badge, issued in recognition of sustained and distinguished service within Mongolia’s military and uniformed institutions. In Mongolian award practice, the Veteran Warrior distinction has traditionally been associated with personnel who completed many years of continuous, productive service in the armed forces, state-security, and public-order organizations; official institutional records also document its presentation to retired servicemen for long and effective service. It is therefore a career-service distinction rather than a campaign or anniversary award.

The badge is executed in gilt metal with deep red and black enamel, its composition built around a circular black central medallion bearing a raised traditional Mongolian-script device in contrasting white and gilt. The roundel is set against a broad red-enameled military flags, surmounted by a stylized sword and finished below with gilt rays. It hangs from a distinctive black-enameled suspension bar outlined in gold and decorated with an interlaced central motif. The reverse is plain gilt with its original horizontal pin fastening.

Condition is excellent overall, with strong original gilding, glossy enamel, and only minor surface and handling marks visible under close photography. The suspension, connecting rings, pin, and catch remain complete and functional. The seldom-seen black upper bar and black central field distinguish this variation from the more familiar blue versions encountered in Mongolian military collections, making it an especially desirable original example for a specialist collection of Mongolian Armed Forces insignia, veteran distinctions, and modern military awards.
