Description
Original Item – Only One Available. A rare unit-specific commemorative badge marking the 70th anniversary of the Mongolian People’s Revolutionary Army’s 15th Cavalry Regiment. The regiment formed part of the 6th Cavalry Division and appears in contemporary accounts of the 1939 Khalkhin Gol campaign, including operations around Nomonhan and the Baintsagaan battlefield. This association places the unit within one of the defining chapters of Mongolia’s twentieth-century military history, when mounted formations operated alongside armored and mechanized forces on the country’s eastern frontier.
The badge is executed as a circular gilt-metal pendant suspended from a red-enameled rectangular bar with a decorative lower border. The obverse carries the red inscription “15th Cavalry Regiment,” surrounding a large blue “70.” A mounted cavalryman appears beside the numeral, while an armored vehicle below symbolizes the transition from traditional horse cavalry to the mechanized army; green laurel branches complete the composition. The reverse is plain, and the suspension bar retains its original horizontal pin fastening. Condition is very good for its age, with attractive natural patina, preserved colored details, and light surface wear visible under close photography. A seldom-encountered original anniversary issue for an advanced collection of Mongolian cavalry, Khalkhin Gol, or military-unit insignia.
