Original Item – Only One Available. A rare North Korean commemorative badge issued for the 500th performance of the revolutionary opera “A True Daughter of the Party”. Created under the direction of Kim Jong Il and first performed on 11 December 1971 by the Korean People’s Army performing ensemble, the production became one of the DPRK’s celebrated Five Great Revolutionary Operas. Set during the Korean War, it follows Kang Yon-ok, a young army nurse presented as the model of loyalty, courage, and devotion to the Workers’ Party of Korea.

The badge is executed with a broad field of deep red enamel. Its central design shows the uniformed soldier, beneath the crossed hammer, sickle, emblem of the Workers’ Party of Korea. The inscription reads “Revolutionary Opera: A True Daughter of the Party.” The composition is framed by wartime equipment and stage-derived imagery, linking the piece directly to the opera’s Korean People’s Army setting. The reverse is plain and retains its period pin fastening.

Light scratches, small enamel imperfections and surface wear are visible under close photography. Commemorative issues connected with a specific performance milestone are substantially more specialized than general revolutionary-opera badges, making this 500th-performance example a desirable piece of North Korean military, theatrical, and political history.
