Description

This historically important set of four medals represents one of the rarest survivals from the Central African Republic campaign, awarded directly to Wagner PMC fighter who took part in Operation Toumba Zéndé (2020–2021).

The set includes:

  • Operation Toumba Zéndé Medal
  • Medal of Honour & Fidelity
  • Medal of Military Valor Cross
  • Medal of Star of Military Merit

While the three CAR decorations are official government awards, they were presented directly to Wagner fighters in recognition of their combat role. Earlier issues of these medals were produced in France, while later strikes, such as this group, were manufactured in Russia, reflecting Wagner’s influence on the awards system itself.

This campaign, known as Operation Toumba Zéndé was one of Wagner’s most decisive interventions in Africa. It marked a turning point in stabilizing the Central African Republic, with Wagner troops taking part in more than 450 documented engagements across the country, from Bangui to remote provinces.

On December 17, 2020, militants launched a large-scale assault on Bangui, forcing the CAR government to declare full combat readiness. Foreign diplomats and citizens fled the capital as the situation deteriorated. President Touadéra urgently appealed to Russia, Rwanda, and EU states for military aid. By December 18–19, Russian instructors and reinforcements arrived, beginning Operation Cleansing near Mbaïki, where the first clashes broke out. In the following weeks, joint forces pushed back the militants and liberated key towns across the Central African Republic.

What makes this group truly remarkable is that all four decorations were awarded to the Wagner fighter, with the Toumba Zéndé medal bearing his personal number on the reverse. Sets like this almost never appear on the open market, as most remain within Wagner circles or were lost in combat.

Condition: All medals are in excellent condition with ribbons preserved. Accompanied by official award booklet detailing battle locations and context of Operation Toumba Zéndé.

For advanced collectors, the four medal set awarded to Wagner contractor is of the highest rarity and historical importance, combining both official CAR state decorations and the unique Wagner issued Toumba Zéndé medal.
