Description

Original Item – Only One Available. An imposing large-format rendition of the emblem of the FSB, Russia's Federal Security Service, the domestic-security successor to the KGB, executed as a presentation plaque in the same construction and materials as the service's wearable insignia, but at five times the scale. At approximately 14 cm from pommel to sword tip, this is the format produced for presentation to senior officers, for mounting on office plaques and award boards, and for the service's own ceremonial use, not a wearable badge, and never a commercial souvenir. The twin screw-post fittings on the reverse carry retaining plates struck the Moscow Pobeda workshop, one of the recognized manufacturers of official security-service insignia, whose marking is the production signature specialists look for on genuine large-format pieces.

The design is the full heraldic achievement of the FSB, rendered in multipiece construction with real depth: the traditional Chekist shield with riveted silvered border and gilt sword, the field in rich translucent red enamel, and the imperial-crowned double-headed eagle applied in high-relief gilt, bearing on its breast the black-enameled shield with St. George slaying the dragon, separately applied in silvered relief. Sweeping around the shield, the blue enamel scroll carries "Federal Security Service" in gilt letters, with "Service" on the central banner fold. The hot enamels, red, blue are deep, glassy, and undamaged throughout, and both original screwplates present and matching.

Large presentation emblems of the Russian security services are produced in small numbers and stay where they're given, on the desks and walls of the officers who received them, which is why they surface so rarely compared to wearable badges. As a display centerpiece, nothing in a state-security collection carries a room like one of these: it's the service's own symbol, at the scale the service itself uses for honors. A rare opportunity to acquire the emblem of the world's most famous security service in its most impressive official form.
