An exceptionally low-numbered example of the Mikhail Lermontov Medal issued by the Russian Lermontov Committee, accompanied by its original award certificate and burgundy presentation cover. The certificate associates this issue with the 190th anniversary of Mikhail Yuryevich Lermontov’s birth and states that the medal recognized a recipient’s personal contribution to Russia’s multinational culture and the strengthening of Russian statehood. This is a committee-issued literary and cultural distinction rather than a state decoration of the Russian Federation, awarded within Russian academic, literary, educational, and cultural circles; documented recipients include prominent writers, scholars, and cultural figures.
