Russian SVR Foreign Intelligence Special Forces Unit “Zaslon” Carved Wooden Wall Plaque – Large Variation, Rare Original Issue

Description

Original Item – Only One Available. A rare carved wooden wall plaque featuring the distinctive insignia of the Zaslon, an elite special operations unit associated with Russia’s Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR). The plaque prominently displays the Russian SVR double-headed eagle, a central globe emblem, and the unit's name, “Zaslon,” surrounded by the inscription “Special Purpose Center.” Its shield-shaped design and deeply relief-carved details reproduce the unit's distinctive institutional symbolism in natural wood, creating an impressive display piece associated with one of Russia's most secretive intelligence formations.

Zaslon operates within the Russian foreign intelligence structure and is associated with specialized security operations, the protection of Russian diplomatic personnel and sensitive overseas facilities, and emergency evacuation missions in high-risk environments. Unlike conventional military formations, Zaslon maintains a particularly discreet operational profile, making memorabilia associated with its institutional identity especially desirable among collectors of Russian intelligence and special forces insignia.

This substantial wooden plaque features an intricately carved raised emblem, natural wood grain, and a rear mounting fixture for wall display. Its large format and detailed craftsmanship distinguish it from standard plaques, making it an attractive centerpiece for a specialized collection of Russian SVR, intelligence, and special operations memorabilia. A rarely encountered original Zaslon wooden display plaque.
